Laredo Development Foundation the business authority for economic and industrial development in Laredo and South Texas.
 
 
The Laredo Development Foundation (LDF) is recognized as one of twenty-seven economic development organizations in the nation accredited by IEDC as an Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO). 
 
The LDF, incorporated in November 1966, is a private, non-profit corporation dedicated to the economic and industrial development of the Laredo economy. The prime responsibility of the LDF is industrial attraction, workforce development, assistance to small business start-ups, as well as expansion and retention of existing business and industry.
 

 
 
The Business Anti-Smuggling Coalition (BASC) is private sector led and controlled coalition that is supported by Customs and Border Protection (CBP). BASC was created to address the problem of concealing contraband in commercial trade.
