Laredo, Texas is 150 miles West of the deep water port of Corpus Christi: 150 miles North of highly industrialized Monterrey, Mexico; 150 miles South of San Antonio, Texas; and just across the Rio Grande River from Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.

During the 10 years since 1990, Laredo’s MSA population grew by 50.0% to reach 200,000 in 2000. The 2011 MSA population stands at 241,935 people in Laredo and 256,496 in all of Webb County in 2012. With over 500,000 people living just across the river in Nuevo Laredo, the Los Laredos area has a combined population of over 741,000.
